Jeremiah 29:11-13
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
By turning from my sin, by calling upon God I have opened the door to the plans that He has for me. I can plainly see the destruction and pain by relying on my own plans; plans that did not include God. With great ease I slipped into sexual immorality all the while ignoring God’s pull; all the while twisting the truth into a distorted mindset of pleasure and sin. I only had to call upon Him. I only needed to pray to God and open my eyes to His word.
I do not know His plans, only that I feel I am meant for something great. I feel the hope and future in His plans and seek comfort in His word. When I seek Him with my heart, God will listen. When I call out to Him, He will hear. Breaking free of the chains of sexual bondage allows me to God my heart. I am free to live in His word, and to seek out the plans He has for me. I am free to fulfill His plans and look to a future of relationship with Him.
