Romans 12:3

3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.

When I saw this verse on BibleGateway this morning, I thought how perfect.  What a timely and relevant message for me.  I think that it has been the case where I have thought more highly of myself and my abilities than what is appropriate.  I keep coming back to the point of analyzing myself critically; looking at my flaws and shortcomings with an eye for correction, rather than an attitude of acceptance.

I often feel completely adequate and comfortable with who I am.  This mindset is a trap that ensnares me to believe that I no longer need to grow.  This verse provides a nice reminder that I need to continue to grow in many areas, and I need to look critically at myself.
