One of the activities I put in place in my effort to overcome the struggle of sexual addiction was daily devotionals. The daily devotional was a concept I picked up from bebroken.com and the 40 Day Challenge that is listed there. I downloaded the free Purity Kit and immediately began the devotional of offering 40 days of purity to God.
I found the structure and information within the challenge to be very engaging, which helped get me started on a honorable course of living in purity. While the general structure of the devotional was very good I decided to tweak it slightly in order to better fit my style of daily journaling. The composition of the devotional helped me to look at the important aspects, such as daily prayer and bible reading. I was also guided in the style of questions to be asking myself and encouraged to look at my emotions. The journaling began to be a meaningful component of my daily routine.
Unfortunately I was not able to keep up with the devotional on an everyday basis, but I was still able to maintain a high degree of integrity on the days I missed. As the devotional progressed I found myself merely going through the routine and getting bogged down with the details. At that point I made some changes and began to integrate the devotional into my blog. My devotional can now be followed here under the Devotional category.
Through it all I feel the daily devotional was an integral part to breaking the cycle of masturbation, pornography, acting out, and lust. For anyone struggling with those issues I would suggest looking into a daily devotional as a resource for dealing with the guilt, shame, and struggle associated with sexual addiction.

Your entries are very enlightening and most of them are based on problems, which we face almost everyday. Be it men or women. As a woman, i feel that there isn’t much difference.

I agree women are just as susceptible to the same struggles as men.
